Holiday
Fantastic day out.

The ferry was a nice ride - takes 90 minutes from Perth
Swan river is amazing and the commentary was good. Shows how good Perth and the surrounding suburbs is.
The discovery bus tour is a must. Avette and the bus driver very friendly and the tour was a lot of fun. My daughter and wife gave it a 10.

Coming from Melbourne it was an eye-opener how much nicer this city is compared to Melbourne. Unfortunately, Melbourne is now overcrowded and a congested city to drive in. Not sure how it gets the most liveable city from Perth

The people in Perth are very friendly and the road easy to drive in.

Definitely come to Perth and put this in your list of days out.
If thinking come to Australia, give Sydney and Melbourne a miss , you will spend half your time in traffic.

Perth is a must 10/10

Total package!
We visited Rottnest Island for the first time and were recommend the services of Rottnest Express by the Perth information Centre.
Total package was worth the money.
Trip on boat from Freemantle and a 3 hour bus tour on the island itself which was incredibly enjoyable.
Our host on the bus was fantastic along with the driver so sorry I can't remember their names... they have been doing the 'runs' for a long time however their obvious love of the job made our experience truly memorable.
Went off the beaten track and even discovered some whale's migrating back on their long journey home.
Really great day... amazing scenery... lots of places to eat and stay if you want. Can see the island on foot.. (too hard) and bikes (not easy) we did a little on foot and very glad that we had the comfort of the bus tour as it takes you over the entire island.

The ride on the boat was smooth sailing.. very busy on the day ... just excellent!

Fabulous!
Weather was a bit ropey when we left Perth, but before we'd left the Swan River, it had perked up. As we travelled down the river, two dolphins accompanied us, which was lovely to see. When we got out into the open sea, it was a bit bumpy, but great fun and before we knew it we were at Rottnest Island. I was travelling solo, as was the gentleman sat beside me on the boat, so we teamed up, hired bikes from the shop on the Island (cheaper to hire with the boat ticket from the boat), and cycled round the Island. It's absolutely beautiful - with great metalled roads which makes the cycling easy. There are a few hilly parts, but nothing major. I hadn't cycled for years and was absolutely fine - I didn't do quite the whole island - just missed one section. The quokkas are very cute and mostly hang around the shop area. They are completely unfazed by you getting right up to them - they don't even blink lol!. The beaches are beautiful - the weather was perfect for cycling, but not quite warm e
