Description
Accommodation at Crystal Springs Homestead is comfortable and stylish, with the 'Holiday House' offering large groups plenty of space and the 'Ranger's House' a more compact alternative.
The Homestead was the site of a grazier's summer camp from the 1870's and later a strawberry farm. The extensive private grounds cover over three acres, include attractive lakes and provide a delightful playground for children.
It sits amidst a high-quality natural environment, with all facilities at hand. Here are the pleasures of a temperate climate, allowing tall karri forests to flourish, creating a habitat for startlingly colourful wildflowers, native animals and birds. Nearby are kangaroos, emus, kookaburras, kingfishers, fairy-wrens, wild ducks, marron, and yabbies as well as the sounds of cicadas, cuckoos, swamp hens and frogs.
Whether you seek relaxation and recuperation - or creative activity and adventure - Crystal Springs has something for everyone.

Easter weekend at Walpole
Spent Easter weekend at Crystal Springs Homestead. What a great spot and although we were 12kms out of Walpole, it seemed to quite central to many points of interest that we visited. Kayaking, fishing and of course, the beach and river spots. The manager's, Grant and Meredith are so friendly and welcoming and gave us some very helpful locations and sites to visit.
We stayed in the Rangers house which was a little dated (the 70's) but warm and welcoming and maintained in very good order. This house sleeps 7 people and firewood was supplied at no cost which I have found most other places charge for.
My friends and family will definitely be back here again. Totally worth the drive south to this forresty corner of our state.
Rangers House - cozy in cold weather
We spent a couple of nights here as a getaway during a wet and cold time of the year. Prices were quite reasonable, and booking went smoothly. We stayed in the Rangers House, which had far more room than we ever needed as a couple - there were several bedrooms. The building itself was very old and even a bit run-down in places, but that wasn't an issue for us - it just adds to the character of the place.
There was a lovely wood fireplace, and firewood was provided, so we happily made use of that, and enjoyed staying indoors in the rainy weather, enjoying some board games and coffee. It was very cozy inside, and the `old' feel just added to the charm.
Lovely campsite and staff
Beautiful campsite amongst the peppermint trees. It has drop toilets that are clean and with toilet paper provided, fire pits and non-drinking water taps. $8 per person. We were lucky enough to have Bill and Trudi as the camp volunteers at the site. Bill was absolutely lovely and accommodating, offering us a gas cooker and any advice we needed.
