It is steeped in history and boasts many wonderful old buildings, so it is fitting that Hillside - a Federation-pile-with-a-past - sits in the historic heart of this famous Wheatbelt town.

From the town centre, turn left into Harper Road (just before bridge), then turn right at Duidgee Park into Railway Rd, 3.5 kms downriver from Toodyay townsite. The entrance is limestone pillars with wooden gates and sign posted "Avondale Estate" set back from the road, notice the grape vines growing at the front entrance.
