Description

By popular demand the “ Snapshot of Margaret River -day tour is the best way to get a feel of what Margaret River is all about.

This is how it works... An early start to catch the morning light and explore the stunning Margaret River. See where early pioneers settled on the banks of the river and follow its Black Granite water falls all the way to the Indian Ocean. The river is home to the endemic and rare fresh water lobster or otherwise known as the Hairy Maron.A delicacy you will find in selected local restaurants.

We arrive at the River Mouth and the infamous “surfers Point” , home of the Margaret River Pro during the world surf league circuit. The huge swells are mesmerising and great photo opportunities to see the local surfers in action.

Next stop is a scenic vista hike a long the Cape to Cape track. We follow the spectacular Limestone cliffs which overlook the Humpback Whales seasonal migration. Dolphins, Wildflowers & orchids in spring , Kangaroos and birds of prey are some of the natural flora and fauna that could be seen along the way. You never know what we may stumble upon.!

Did some one mention its coffee time..! We head further south and drive through an ancient Karri forest with trees towering some 60 meters high displaying a changing kaleidoscope of colour every minute of the day. Hidden in the forest is an amazing boutique cafe and fine furniture and art gallery.Home made scones with jam & cream or choose any other cake you can think of.

Batteries recharged , we head Off Road deep into the forest to an ancient wonderland. A Jurasic Park. This is where I blind fold you to keep the location a secret to an ancient Grass Tree wonderland .Home to a rare orchid and aboriginal history and traditions.

It must be lunch time. We now swing North and head towards a beautiful Olive Grove restaurant.,nestled in the heart of the wine region. Its where the locals eat. If in season we see how the olives are pressed, infused with the many exotic flavours and sample the liquid gold straight from the press. Lunch is ready and your choice of fresh local produce, fish, pasta, cheeses and the chefs seasonal specialities to help make up your mind.

OK ..before calling it a day, we have time to visit some boutique wineries who helped put Margaret River Wines on the world map. Taste the two signature wines the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Chardonnay or the many other boutique varieties that may suite your pallet.Hopefully you will buy a bottle for the evening siesta to help reflect on the day.

Thats it.. a Snap shot of Margaret River. Memories that will last longer than a day

Daytrip
Excellent day, excellent views and most of all information about the nature and history from the excellent Hank.

Hank’s Backyard
By the time Hank (a very decent human being ) had finished with us, we not only knew about the flowers and the forest, but we had also begun to feel them. Hank took us to beautiful places and magnificent little vineyards. He grew up here. Easy to tell this was his backyard. Whatever is the opposite of boring, this was it. Thank you, Hank. Phil n Di

A stunning tour and a day I will never ever forget
I was recommended this tour by another highly regarded tour operator in Margaret River. Hank took us to the most stunning places, and also had plenty of surprise landscapes many tour guides would not understand or have the knowledge of. Hank took us to a delightful venue for lunch, which was high end and certainly far beyond your average tour standard lunch. This was not only the best tour I have done in my life, but it was one of the most wonderful days of our life. To top it
