Despite the regional town being so remote and having little to no access to the photographic world, he picked up a camera at a young age and was self taught in the kind of way you only get through experience and experimentation. In dedication to his practice, its not uncommon for Yane to spend days in the wilderness reaching the Kimberley’s unreachable locations. Yane's perseverance has paid off and has since become an accredited award winning photographer with the 'AIPP' and taking out the prestige's title of Australian Landscape Photographer of the Year in 2017 and WA Commercial Photographer of the Year for 2016 and 2017.
