Great fun - whale spotting was a bonus
I had a great day out with Rottnest Express last Thursday doing their adventure boat tour (which doubles as a whale watching trip during migration season). I must particularly mention the hilarious commentary of our guide, Damo (ask him how you work out the weight of a whale), and thank deckhand Grace and skipper Ollie for their great service. A really great day out that makes the most of your visit if you have limited time on the island.Great value and awesome day
"The Rottnest ferry ride and adventure speed boat ride capped a truly amazing day. the weather was perfect and while the ferry ride was super slow in the Swan river it was great to get out into the Indian ocean and feel the bumps at a decent speed! Our adventure tour was incredible. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable and gave us heaps of thrills in the speed boat as well as plenty of time to stop and take photos. We got to circumnavigate the island which, from what they told us, is rare. Facilities on the ferry were great and Elizabeth Quay is a quick easy walk from where we were staying. We took a packed lunch but there was plenty of options on the island. I'd definitely recommend it as a must do for all visitors looking for a full day of fun."Rottnest is a MUST!!!
After booking the ferry ride & then the VENTURE TOUR it was like chalk & cheese. The ferry took you to the island & you had an hour & a half to have a leisurely look around seeing the QUOKKAS & getting a feel of the island.WELL THEN THE PACE CHANGED!!The venture tour was on a solid, unsinkabl e 900horse power speed machine which took
us out looking for whales & seals & dolphins & we saw lots. However,I recommend that anyone with a fear of high speed wave jumping boats (especially the oldies) think before they book as it was thrilling or hairy if you know what I mean but I loved it & I am 74.
