Description
Millbrook is a boutique winery situated in the historic town of Jarrahdale in Western Australia, 45 kilometres south-east of Perth. The winery is located at picturesque Chestnut Farm nestled among virgin jarrah forests, with stunning vistas of the rolling landscape.
Join us in the tasting room from Thursday to Monday to sample the award-winning Millbrook wines, with a great range available to purchase by the glass and bottle. There’s also a selection of light snacks to enjoy while soaking up the sun on the deck, with views over the lake.
To complement the fine wines, the Millbrook Winery restaurant offers a unique "from the property" menu, which changes with the seasons to utilise more than 100 varieties of heirloom vegetables grown and handpicked daily from our one acre garden. The unique menu offered by head chef and gardener Guy Jeffreys won him Chef of the Year in the 2017 WA Good Food Guide, with the restaurant runner up for Restaurant of the Year. The kitchen also offers picnic baskets to enjoy in the beautiful grounds (48 hours notice required please).
The origins of Chestnut Farm date back to the nineteenth century when the original owner, Joseph Batt, planted an orchard and the first grapevines in 1860, providing fruit and a few headaches to the local timber-millers in Jarrahdale. The name Millbrook was derived from the timber-milling history of Jarrahdale and the Gooralong Brook which is a feature of the town.
Today, Chestnut Farm and Millbrook Winery are owned by Peter and Lee Fogarty. In addition to the vines which line the steep slopes, the property still incorporates an active orchard, as well as an olive grove, sparkling lakes, and marron and trout dams.
