Overview
Island Point Reserve is a very popular bird watching area.
You'll find electric barbecues and picnic tables, trails for bush walking, two entry areas to launch small boats, toilets, interpretative signage explaining the history, flora and fauna of the reserve.
There is a boardwalk (2km south of the main point picnic area) overlooking the estuary.
Walk the short loop (2.3km) or the long loop (3.3km) to take in the beautiful scenery.
To get here, turn off Old Coast Rd onto Southern Estuary Road, turn left onto Island Point Road.
Gates do not allow for wheelchair access to the tracks that run through the reserve.
